BES Group proud to host Energy Minister, Matthew Hancock

On Thursday 12th March, the BES Group, based at Fleetwood Town Football Club, will host a special visit from Matthew Hancock (Minister for Business & Enterprise and Energy), as well as MP for Lancaster and Fleetwood, Eric Ollerenshaw.

Mr Hancock will be touring the North-West of England in support of National Apprenticeship Week. He will be taking time out to visit BES Utilities and to talk to Directors, Andy Pilley and Michelle Davidson, about the success of the group and how the Government can support companies to grow and flourish

As well as meeting staff and taking a tour of the BES offices and Fleetwood Town Football Club, the Minister will also spend time with youth team apprentices.

Being one of the largest employers on the Fylde coast and having recently recruited another 50 roles in the area, the BES Group are great advocates for the local business community and Andy Pilley recently met with the Chancellor, George Osborne, at a Downing Street reception in support of creating a ‘northern economic powerhouse’.

Speaking ahead of the visit, Managing Director, Andy Pilley, said:

“The fact that the Minister and our local MP, Eric Ollerenshaw, have taken time out of their busy schedule to visit BES is a great testament to the continued growth and success of the group, and we’re extremely proud to be flying the flag for the local community.

“We’re one of the largest employers in the region and look forward to sharing our thoughts on how the Government can support businesses to succeed.”

As a nationwide supplier of gas and electricity, the visit will also provide the perfect opportunity for Michelle and Andy to talk to the Energy Minister about improving competition in the market, and their recent price cut announcement.
